Coordinate curriculum in line with standards and provide related materials and information to teachers. Coordinate with the behaviorists to facilitate learning and provide direct instruction to teachers and others. Plan activities designed to reach goals and objectives.

This position is a full-time position as a temporary leave replacement beginning September 02nd, 2025. It is projected to last until June 2026 but is subject to change based on program needs. Please note that as the position is temporary, it is NOT eligible for holiday or school recess pay, not eligible for benefits, and not eligible for PTO other than NYSSL.

Works closely with Manager to ensure ongoing support is provided to people by fostering an environment in which active treatment is ongoing and assists people in becoming active participants in every aspect of their lives (i.e., self-care routines, health, safety, household chores, socialization and overall well being) and ensuring that a high quality of life is maintained.
Fulfill all school nurse functions as needed in a special education environment in an appropriate and professional manner.

Assist the children as requested by the teacher; maintain health and safety of the classroom environment by performing assigned tasks. May be required to attend evening meetings. Prepare classroom materials as requested by teacher. Classroom assignment is subject to change based on program needs.
Assist with the day-to-day supervision of assigned students, and the overall support of classroom-wide Positive Behavior Supports. Provide staff training in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Autism Spectrum Disorders and related disabilities. Trained in SCIP.

Oversee activities of assigned teacher assistants and aides; communicate appropriately and in a timely manner with families of assigned children. Increase professional knowledge in areas relevant to children enrolled in program. May be required to attend evening meetings.
Assists Lead Counselor to ensure children have structured activities planned and that activities are age and ability appropriate. Assists in being responsible for the well being and safety of the children.
We currently offer two Saturday recreation programs – one with a focus on recreation and the other with a focus on social skills for children with autism. All programs include a wide range of skill enhancement through music, arts and crafts, cooking, movement dance and indoor and outdoor play. Swimming in the outdoor pool is available during the summer months.
