Assist the assigned teacher as requested in all areas of the daily classroom routine. Assist the children as requested by the teacher; maintain health and safety of the classroom environment by performing assigned tasks. May be required to attend evening meetings. Prepare classroom materials as requested by teacher. Classroom assignment is subject to change based on program needs.
Evaluate and provide appropriate special education services to assigned children. Implement curriculum based on student's individualized academic, social, and behavioral needs. Communicate appropriately with professional staff and families of assigned students. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with the regulations established by NYSED, DOH and other oversight agencies.
Conducts and monitors implementation of transition services on a student’s IEP, such as training, education and, where appropriate, independent living skills.
Includes transporting students to employment placements or job experiences. Classroom assignments are subject to change based on program needs.
Evaluate and provide appropriate special education services to assigned children. Oversee activities of assigned teacher assistants and aides; communicate appropriately and in a timely manner with families of assigned children. Increase professional knowledge in areas relevant to children enrolled in program. May be required to attend evening meetings.
