- Plans arts & crafts activities (including special seasonal activities) for students, which are designed to improve fine motor skills, facilitate self-expression and develop awareness of self and other people and things.
- Must be knowledgeable about the physical and mental limitations of each student and plans activities to accommodate these limitations.
- Performs additional related duties as requested by supervisor.
- Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff.
- Report all incidents to the Nurse and Program Coordinator
- Maintain a safe environment for the students
- Responsible for the supervision of assistant counselors during art
- Responsible for the organization of assigned group when asked to cover a room as a substitute
- Set up art activities and make a sample for the students to visualize what they are making
